Penang Day 1: Walking in George Town

I took KTM train from Ipoh to Butterworth, then ferry to Penang Island.

Penang is one of the most popular places in Malaysia, with World Heritage George Town. The town was governed by the British about 100 years ago, and still remains a lot of British style buildings. Cultures, however, in the town are various. You can enjoy Little India and China Town in walking distance. Penang is also famous for its mural arts and food (actually you can find those two in a lot of cities in Malaysia such as Melaka and Ipoh), and food was really nice as I have heard! You should definitely try street food here which is quite cheaper compared to restaurants in KL.

Now we go to Little India.

Then Chinatown.

To be continued for the next day…
